If you have never heard of Technical Diving or if you think that Technical Diving has something to do with Commercial diving than we are more than willing to explain to you what Technical Diving really is.

There is some level of professional disagreement as to what the term Technical Diving should encompass. It was not that many years ago that Nitrox diving (i.e using a gas mix containing more oxygen than standard air) was considered “technical”; many skeptics believed that it was high maintenance and held no place in recreational diving.

However today Nitrox is not normally considered technical. Some believe that technical diving is any type of SCUBA diving that is considered higher risk than conventional recreational diving. Additionally, many who agree on most broad definitions of technical diving may disagree on the precise boundaries between technical and recreational diving.

DECOMPRESSION DIVING:

While the Rec diver is solely trained for No-Decompression Diving (staying within limits governed by Recreational dive tables), the Tec diver will be trained to move outside of these limits. The purpose of decompression diving is to allow the diver to stay longer at depth and compensate for this by making predetermined stops during ascent to the surface. This allows inert gasses in the body tissues (primarily Nitrogen) to be released slowly, thereby avoiding complications from Decompression Sickness​, or The bends.
